URLX First-Party Measurement Program
A data-infrastructure experiment, not another research cohort. It asks whether qualifying Internet-property owners will voluntarily connect or disclose first-party analytics sufficient for URLX to independently measure property-level audience economics. Availability is not admissibility, and owning the data does not establish independence.
Development research — not a validated market model
This is a data-infrastructure experiment, not another research cohort. It asks whether qualifying Internet-property owners will voluntarily connect or disclose first-party analytics sufficient for URLX to independently measure property-level audience economics. Availability is not admissibility: an owner-reported number is a disclosure, not an independent measurement. Nothing recorded here changes URLX FAIR VALUE™, the URLX Score, production valuations, snapshots, production methodology, production provenance or production audit records, and the previously reported unexplained variation is unmoved.
URLX-TO-0.1 Finding — property-level audience measurement is not independently observable
Scope: Eight admitted single-property research candidates; 29 source assessments. Development research. URLX-FV-0.1 remains the production methodology and is unchanged.
URLX research across the eight admitted single-property candidates identified no independent property-level traffic measurement meeting the URLX acceptance test, which requires direct measurement, property scope, independence from the existing URLX dataset, and a disclosed methodology. No property owner discloses visits, sessions, unique visitors or pageviews for its own domain. Disclosed registration and transacting-buyer counts are population counts, not audience measurements, and are recorded as proxies. Third-party figures are modelled estimates whose property-level sample and calibration are not disclosed, and one provider returned a figure three to four orders of magnitude below plausibility for a major property, demonstrating that modelled output cannot be accepted unverified. Accordingly, URLX does not treat modelled traffic estimates as property-level audience measurements and does not derive revenue per visitor for these properties. The absence of an independently measurable audience denominator is recorded as a data-infrastructure gap, not as missing data.

URLX Measurement Sequence — status of each link
Scope: Cumulative across the 63-asset public-company universe, the 24-property monetization pilot, the 8-property single-property cohort and the traffic observability study. Development research.
URLX research establishes the following sequence: URL, observable characteristics, economic attribution, audience measurement, valuation. Observable characteristics are established. Economic attribution is partially established. Property-level revenue has been independently demonstrated in limited cases. Property-level traffic is not independently established. Revenue per visitor is not established. Audience-based valuation is not established. URLX does not manufacture Internet economics: it establishes what can be independently measured, documents the source and scope of every observation, and distinguishes measured facts from estimates and unobservable information. Accordingly URLX-FV-0.1 remains the production methodology, under review, with no successor selected.

| Level | Evidence | Research treatment | Admissible | Standard applied |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Owner-reported number | Estimated / disclosed | Never | Owning the data does not establish independence. A self-reported figure is recorded as disclosed, never as an independent measurement, and cannot be admitted. |
| 2 | Screenshot or export of analytics | Evidence-backed, manually verified | Never | The underlying system is visible but the extraction is manual and cannot be re-run, so the reading is evidence-backed rather than measured. |
| 3 | Read-only analytics connection | Direct first-party measurement | Eligible | URLX reads the property's own measurement system directly. This is the first level at which a reading may be admitted as a URLX measurement. |
| 4 | Independently verified analytics feed | Strongest research evidence | Eligible | A direct connection whose figures have been reconciled against a second documented record of the same period. |
| 5 | Continuous authenticated data feed | Potential production-grade infrastructure | Eligible | Authenticated, repeatable and continuous. Potential production-grade infrastructure — potential only, until a production methodology is selected. |
Availability is not admissibility
A number existing does not make it a URLX measurement. Admission requires a documented source, scope, period and a repeatable path from the source system to the URLX metric.
Owner-reported is not independent
A property owner reporting its own audience figure is a disclosure. Independence is established by how the figure was obtained and verified, never by who holds the data.
Preserved chain
Every reading records source, collection timestamp, measurement period, transformation and the URLX metric it maps to. A reading missing any link is not admitted.
Admissible measurement
A reading obtained at evidence level 3 or above, classified above not-independent, with a written admission rationale. Levels 1 and 2 can never be admitted.
Audience measurement
Sessions
Sessions recorded by the property's own measurement system for a stated date range.
Record the session definition used by the source system. Session counts from different systems are not interchangeable.
Users / visitors
Distinct users or visitors for the same date range.
State whether the count is cookie-based, device-based or identity-based. Do not treat one as another.
Pageviews
Pageviews or screen views attributed to the domain.
Exclude app screens unless the source cannot separate them, in which case record the limitation.
Audience composition
Device mix
Distribution across desktop, mobile web and tablet for the period.
Record the distribution as reported. Do not normalise or reallocate unassigned traffic.
Geography
Geographic distribution of the audience for the period.
Record the reported markets and the share that is unassigned.
Traffic sources
Acquisition channel distribution for the period.
Channel groupings are system-specific. Record the grouping definition used.
Property economics
Conversions
Conversions recorded where the property measures them.
Record what the property counts as a conversion. An undefined conversion is not a measurement.
Revenue attributable to the property
Revenue the owner attributes to activity on the property for the same period as the audience figures.
Company revenue is not property revenue. Record the attribution rule the owner applies and the channels it excludes.
Transaction count
Transactions completed on the property in the period, where applicable.
Exclude transactions completed in an app or off-platform, or record the limitation.
No participant has been recorded. The program is defined and its admission standard is enforced, but the recruitment experiment has not been run, so the program states no result.

Readiness counts admissible property-level observations only. Producing more owner-reported figures never raises it.
No reading has been recorded. When a reading is entered, its full chain is preserved here and the admission test is shown for each link, so an inadmissible reading is visible rather than discarded.
URL
ESTABLISHED
The property identifier is directly observable.
Observable characteristics
ESTABLISHED
Traffic-associated characteristics, growth, engagement, reach, verification and transparency are recorded with provenance across the 63-property universe.
Economic attribution
PARTIALLY ESTABLISHED
Independent property-level revenue demonstrated in 4 single-property cases; zero in the public-company cohort, where disclosure is enterprise-level.
Audience measurement
NOT ESTABLISHED
No admissible property-level audience measurement exists. Third-party estimates were assessed and none met the acceptance standard.
Revenue per visitor
NOT ESTABLISHED
Requires an admissible audience denominator and property-attributable revenue for the same property and period. The denominator does not exist.
Audience-based valuation
NOT ESTABLISHED
Not established. URLX-FV-0.1 remains the production methodology, under review, with no successor selected.
Will qualifying Internet-property owners voluntarily connect or disclose first-party analytics sufficient for URLX to independently measure property-level audience economics?
NOT YET TESTED
The program, its evidence levels and its admission standard are in place, and no participant or reading has been recorded. Until owners are approached, the question is untested — which is stated rather than implied.
