URLX Traffic Observability Study
One objective only: determine whether independent, property-level traffic measurements can be obtained for qualifying Internet properties with sufficient methodological transparency to support URLX research. The cohort is the eight admitted single-property candidates. No economic variable is added and no valuation conclusion is drawn.
Development research — not a validated market model
This study answers one question only: can independent, property-level traffic measurements be obtained for qualifying Internet properties with enough methodological transparency to support URLX research? A number being available from a commercial provider is not the test. Nothing recorded here changes URLX FAIR VALUE™, the URLX Score, production valuations, snapshots, production provenance or production audit records, and the previously reported unexplained variation is unmoved.
URLX Single-Property Observability Interim Finding
Scope: Eight admitted single-property candidates; 92 recorded sourcing results; official filings and investor releases only
Across eight admitted single-property businesses, 92 sourcing results establish that the single-property structure partially breaks the observability barrier identified in URLX-IE-0.1. Revenue attributable to the property was independently observed at property level for four properties, transaction counts for one, gross transaction value for two and customer counts for two - outcomes that were entirely absent in the 24 public-company cohort, where every variable returned zero independent property-level observations. No variable yet reaches the five-observation researchability threshold. Independent property-level traffic measurement remains unobservable for all eight properties, so revenue per visitor cannot be derived, and customer value remains unobservable throughout. URLX-FV-0.1, the URLX Score and the reported unexplained variation are unchanged.

URLX-SPE-0.1 Interim Finding — single-property structures and the audience boundary
Scope: Eight admitted single-property research candidates. Development research; URLX-FV-0.1 remains the production methodology and is unchanged.
Single-property structures partially overcome the enterprise-attribution boundary. Independent property-level revenue and transaction observations are obtainable in some cases. However, independently sourced property-level audience measurements remain unavailable in the current eight-property cohort. Consequently, URLX cannot yet establish a defensible revenue-per-visitor measurement from this cohort.

URLX-TO-0.1 Finding — property-level audience measurement is not independently observable
Scope: Eight admitted single-property research candidates; 29 source assessments. Development research. URLX-FV-0.1 remains the production methodology and is unchanged.
URLX research across the eight admitted single-property candidates identified no independent property-level traffic measurement meeting the URLX acceptance test, which requires direct measurement, property scope, independence from the existing URLX dataset, and a disclosed methodology. No property owner discloses visits, sessions, unique visitors or pageviews for its own domain. Disclosed registration and transacting-buyer counts are population counts, not audience measurements, and are recorded as proxies. Third-party figures are modelled estimates whose property-level sample and calibration are not disclosed, and one provider returned a figure three to four orders of magnitude below plausibility for a major property, demonstrating that modelled output cannot be accepted unverified. Accordingly, URLX does not treat modelled traffic estimates as property-level audience measurements and does not derive revenue per visitor for these properties. The absence of an independently measurable audience denominator is recorded as a data-infrastructure gap, not as missing data.
Effective 2026-09-18 · to-01-traffic-observability
Direct measurement
The audience figure is counted on the property itself — server logs, a first-party analytics disclosure, or a tag-based census measurement of that domain.
Modelled estimate
The figure is produced by a model — panel data, clickstream data, or a projection. It is an estimate of the property's traffic, not a measurement of it. URLX records it as an estimate no matter how widely the provider is used.
Accepted as a URLX research observation
Accepted only when the measurement is direct, scoped to the property, independent of the existing URLX dataset, and published with enough methodological detail to be examined. Commercial availability is not acceptance.
Unobservable
No defensible property-level audience measurement exists. This is recorded as a research finding, not as missing data.

Methodology: Provider blends first-party analytics shared by participating sites, an anonymous contributor device network, partner datasets and public data, then applies machine-learning calibration and projection. The provider states its output is an estimation from a sample and is not comparable to direct measurement.
Independence: A panel-and-clickstream blend introduces measurement signals the URLX dataset does not hold, but the published figure for any individual property is a modelled projection, not a direct measurement of that property.
Limitation: The sample composition and calibration for any single property are not disclosed, so the figure cannot be reproduced or audited. The provider itself documents discrepancies against direct measurement. No value is recorded because no licensed property-level figure was obtained under terms permitting its use as a URLX observation.

Independence: Derived from search-engine keyword data the URLX dataset does not hold, but it is modelled from search volumes rather than measured on the property.
Limitation: Covers organic search arrivals in one country only; excludes direct, referral, paid, email and social arrivals, and excludes app activity. Not a total audience figure and not a measurement.

Methodology: Search volume multiplied by estimated click-through rate across visible ranked keywords; provider states it is an estimate.
Limitation: The provider returned 2 ranked keywords and 37 estimated monthly visits for one of the most visited websites in the world. The figure is a provider coverage artefact, not a measurement, and is recorded as evidence that modelled provider output can fail silently.

ESTABLISHEDThe domain is identified and its control verified at admission.
Independent property-level traffic
NOT ESTABLISHED0 accepted independent property-level observations against a 5-observation threshold.
Independent property-level revenue
PARTIAL4 independent property-level revenue observations recorded in URLX-SPE-0.1.
Revenue per visitor
NOT ESTABLISHEDRequires an independent traffic denominator and an independent revenue numerator for the same property and period. Neither side reaches the threshold, so no revenue-per-visitor measurement is produced.
Historical revenue per visitor
NOT ESTABLISHEDNot attempted. A historical series cannot be built on a measurement that does not yet exist for a single period.
Category-adjusted audience economics
NOT ESTABLISHEDNot attempted in this study. Existing category research remains descriptive development research.
URLX Fair Value research model
NOT ESTABLISHEDOut of scope. URLX-FV-0.1 remains the production methodology, under review, with no successor selected.
Can independent, property-level traffic measurements be obtained for qualifying Internet properties with sufficient methodological transparency to support URLX research?
ESTIMATABLE ONLY
No accepted independent property-level traffic observation was obtained. 17 modelled third-party estimates exist, but a modelled figure is an estimate of the property's traffic rather than a measurement of it, so URLX does not treat it as an audience denominator.
